Prof. Gérard Siest was among the founding members of ESPT in 2011, and was an important inspiratory and driver of the society. He served as ESPT president from 2012–2016. Under his leadership, ESPT gained worldwide visibility and became an important scientific stakeholder in the field of pharmacogenomics and personalised medicine.
